Hi Friends, I've always had a hard time explaining to people exactly what it is I do. "I'm a somatic practitioner, trained in Core Energetics. I help people understand and feel their feelings. And the reason it's important to feel your feelings is..." This is where it can get a bit esoteric, and my explanation always feels incomplete and unsatisfying. It's not that I think people don't get it. They do. Because we all instinctively know that repressing or hiding our emotions creates problems in our lives. It's the source of why we feel frustrated or stuck. But explaining why to the average person who is understandably put off by "therapy speak" has always felt challenging. That's why I was delighted to see this video by Chase Hughes. Chase is a former US Navy Chief who spent 20 years specializing in applied behavior and interrogation who now shares his secrets on YouTube. I love his videos. But this one especially. Because he brilliantly breaks down how unprocessed emotions create havoc in our lives. And his recommendation for what to do about is an almost prefect description of my work. Thank you Chase! You can watch it HERE. (You can skip to 21:18 for the most relevant section). Let me know what you think... Dave 👉🏼 ps. My next Men's Retreat is in Austin September 25-27. |

It's compelling content. Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be in the hot-seat with me? To reveal yourself in that way? If so, I'm starting a YouTube series featuring...
Hey All — I’ve been watching Joe Hudson’s live coaching calls on YouTube. They’re really good. But I keep thinking: “I could do it better!” Well, maybe not better — just different. Most of you are probably aware of the therapy-style interviews I’ve done with Andrew Tate, Blair White, Pearl Davis, and others. If not, you can check them out on my YouTube. But after watching Joe Hudson, I thought it might be interesting to do some interviews with “regular people,” not just controversial internet...
"I need that" is the most common response I get when I tell people about my work. Because everyone knows they have feelings they hold back —— and talking about them isn't enough. So when I describe the physicality that allows people to access their repressed emotions, almost everyone immediately gets it. This wasn't the case 20 years ago when I started. But now somatic therapy has gone mainstream, and most people understand that to release ourselves from the grip of our emotions we must be...
